On Weekly Rotation
A peek at the outfits, errands, and routines shaping my week
There’s something about a normal week that makes me pay closer attention to what I’m actually reaching for.
Remember that one back to school outfit that you were extra excited about? This would be my 30-something-year-old version of that.
Over the summer, I wore my beige denim jacket to the ground (my exact is sold out, but the next best is on sale!), and my plan is to do the exact same with this white shirt/barn jacket.
To be honest, I’ve never loved the shirt jacket you’re probably picturing—the one that every girl seems to have in some form hanging in her closet. While a white version isn’t groundbreaking, this one feels fresh.
With outerwear especially, I’d rather have fewer pieces I reach for constantly than a closet full of maybes. I was just talking about this with a styling client who said she had all the basics but felt like she was missing that coolness factor when getting dressed. Nine times out of ten, it’s really just the lived-in ease you get from actually wearing your best pieces on repeat.
Sharing a couple other similar jackets I’ve recently seen and loved: here and here
You may be tired of hearing me profess my love for the tailor if you’ve been here a while, but I promise it’s for good reason. Trust me when I say you’ll reach for a piece a million times more when it actually fits. (This is why the hunt for the perfect pair of vintage Levi’s is always worth the extra effort and even then sometimes further tailoring is needed!)
I brought these jeans in for a few tweaks—they’re the same style as the tan pair pictured, which I’d already had adjusted to fit perfectly and wear all the time.
As if my tailor needed any more proof she knows what she’s doing, I wore the tan pair in as a reference (I’m crazy, I know) but better safe than sorry. And this is your reminder to always bring multiple shoes to take measurements in. Before we change subjects, these jeans look incredible if you’re looking to switch things up from blue to tan.
I also dropped off a pair of really great transitional shorts/pants that I couldn’t wait to wear—the perfect piece for a casual al fresco drink before the season officially ends, as worn below!
I paired them with this pleasantly lovely long sleeve (gifted) and my Emi sandals (size 36.5 on Poshmark here) which I didn’t wear nearly enough this summer, but not because I don’t love them.
Trying to redeem myself by wearing them as much as possible this month—thinking of pairing them with my favorite olive pants and this really chic cape situation sitting in my cart.
Only in San Francisco could my first true t-shirt-and-flip-flop Pilates walk home happen in September. Despite years living on the West Coast, I still desperately miss the cadence of proper seasons.
The real point I’m trying to make here is about these exceptionally chic workout pants.

They’re so good I wear them to class/matcha/whatever else without a second thought. The perfect option for the days when leggings are just not happening.
When it cools down I’ll be wearing them with clogs (is it time to try the Hudson? Or the identical Ugg version?) and rotating between my Ophelia and this great sweater.
I usually stick to finishing what’s in my rotation before trying something new, but Sofie Pavitt’s line is impossible to resist.
She offers a carefully curated edit for problematic skin that skips the fluff and actually delivers results. I’m already obsessed with her Omega Rich Moisturizer and have a feeling the Mandelic Clearing Serum will live up to it’s #1 title. Obviously, I will report back on this!
Refreshing my favorite websites is a ritual I’m not exactly proud of—but it’s definitely a daily habit. Every so often it pays off like when I spotted this season’s Extreme Cashmere sweater sitting pretty in Bessette’s new-in section. I’ve been eyeing a few pieces by the brand for a while but hadn’t indulged, so having this one pop up just as I was working with the Bessette team on a gifting opportunity felt pretty perfectly timed.
I’ve written about Bessette before (in this letter!), but to cut to the chase: they’ve completely reinvented the idea of a luxury online outlet and remain at the top of my always-open tabs. Bookmark them for when you’re in the mood for a good scroll.
Final note: if you don’t already own a pair of black linen pants, consider this your sign. Donni has finally restocked the pair that never stays in stock. They’re effortless with a knit for fall and equally essential come summer.

I recently wore mine in between Pilates and my first meeting with barely a second to get ready and they still looked intentional. That’s the genius of Donni.
I’ll leave you here—somehow the week always ends up at our favorite local spot!
