Loose Ends
What I’ve worn, bought, and been thinking about the past few days
Apparently I needed a full day to recover from the Fourth—anyone else? So I’m making the most of some couch time by rounding up a few easy outfits, recent purchases, and other small updates from the past few days.
Starting with a newfound obsession: summer corduroys. I grabbed this pair earlier in the season (the private sale price made it an easy yes) with fall in mind, but they’ve already proven to be a good investment. I have to credit the e-comm styling here for inspiration—but I paired them with leather thong sandals and a tee, and it turned out to be the perfect daytime look for some in person shopping. A little more interesting than a typical t-shirt and jean formula.
I usually prefer shopping online over browsing in person, but I was in the mood to try on a few things I’d been eyeing. A well-timed sale email from my favorite local shop definitely added some extra motivation.
I wanted both of these to work, but I’m holding the pants up at the waist and the sandals feel a bit too small. So now I’m officially on the hunt for my size—and debating whether tailoring is worth it or if these might be close enough to scratch the itch.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this t-shirt is worth it. It was half off (!) and ended up being the one thing I took home. I’ve been living in the grey-blue version (very similar here) all summer, but even if you’re not as t-shirt obsessed as I am, this one is still an incredible go-to that I reach for often. They just sent me an updated cut in this chic, slinky material and I’m quite impressed if you prefer a more classic fit.
By the time I got home, it was already time to head out for a quick bite with Chris, and if there’s one thing to know about me, it’s that I rarely do a full outfit change twice in one day. I much prefer to keep the base the same, swap the shoe and bag, maybe add a layer. Which is exactly what I did here.
Weekends at home tend to follow the same rhythm with matcha and the market always at the top of the list. I’ll admit, I really don’t love the grocery store, but I’ll always use it as an excuse to throw on an easy outfit.
DONNI. sent over a few pieces from their Summer Part IV collection, and I could’ve worn the entire look all weekend. Their pieces are effortless and perfect for home, errands, matcha runs, neighborhood strolls, etc… you get the idea.
One of the many reasons I love DONNI. is that they’re super petite-friendly. I’m around 5'4", and these pants hit the perfect length. Easy with flip flops, but would also work with something a little more substantial. The drawstring is a nice detail too, giving you the flexibility to wear them where you want on your waist. I’m kind of a mid-rise girl.
I’m wearing the painter pant (XXS), the vintage lace tee (XS) layered with the vintage lace tank (XS), and slim Havaianas. I usually prefer the thick strap, but I recently got the classic slim and have been putting them to work.
Ending it here with a gorgeous matcha—truly the thing that can make or break my entire day, depending on how it’s made. Problematic, I know!
